Dear all,
I am a graduate researcher (double master's in International Relations, LUISS Guido Carli & China Foreign Affairs University) based in Beijing, researching the intersection of AI governance and political violence. My linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeanne-vincendeau/.
I have been invited to two events in quick succession (and at the last minute):
1. CEIBS Europe Forum (Shanghai, June 24) — EU-China AI governance and cooperation dialogue.
2. Foresight Institute / Cooperative AI Foundation "Supercooperation" workshop (Seoul, July 5) — ~50 invited participants working on AI's implications for democratic governance and power concentration, sponsored by the Future of Life Institute.
I'm requesting $710 total to cover travel and one night's accommodation for each:
- Shanghai: ~$205 (train + accommodation)
- Seoul: ~$503 (flights + accommodation)
Relevant work: published on Sino-US AI geopolitics (The Loop / ECPR), co-authored research on violent protest outcomes (AJSS), ECPR conference paper comparing Chinese and Russian governance approaches.
I have a rapid grant request pending with BlueDot Impact covering part of this, but given the short timeline (events on June 24 and July 5) I wanted to open this as a parallel option in case funding doesn't come through in time.
Happy to share more about my research focus or answer any questions!
