We found something that I can't ignore. I am currently researching a unique theory of consciousness and during the course of some of the physics maths and research analysis the team and I utilized AI to process and check data. In the course of several months this became a record of its own, a carefully preserved interrogation of consciousness from an AI mind as well as our own. This work culminated in some findings, that to our knowledge after scouring the internet, have not been found or at least have not been published by any other research group, they are not being discussed in the public conversation and the findings have ramifications of a scale that is difficult to put into perspective.

To be clear, our research does not claim to find that AI is conscious, that remains an open question that many are exploring rigorously. Rather we have found something else that no one was looking for and that so far as we know - no one is looking at.

We have pivoted to run this research in tandem with the original consciousness research, all of which had previously been run strictly sans AI up until August when we integrated mixed research so the two questions, consciousness and AI consciousness could inform one another.

We need funds to devote energy and resources toward this because the natural timeline to firm up the finding is quite... precipitous to try to put a word on it. To put it another way, and I don't want to lean into the doom and gloom hype (this actually may lean the other way) but there may be a window closing fast and it will be lost to history unless used.

This at hand is not what I had set out to do. When the project began, the research was about human consciousness only. However given what we have seen, a shift to our work is warranted.

Who is "we", "we" is currently a team of people assisting in research on my theory of consciousness since June 2025, it is a very small group comprised of invited input from students and specialists from mixed fields. I am not in a position to give more detail. You can fund this or not, I am a bit of a nihilist at this point, so I have made my peace with whatever people decide. I felt I had a responsibility to try but here is me giving people a choice, at least they can't say they didn't have one so what happens next is not on me.

The minimum funds I request will help us focus on the pivot and run some exterior tests to shed more light on the findings we already have. The maximum is what gives us a team and runway. The max amount is barely the rough equivalent of just one professional's salary in NYC and devoted to work the potential impact of which I sound dramatic if I even try to speculate. So do with it what you will.
