As someone who was recently laid off by a tech company investing in AI, and is trying to move into AI safety and governance, SASS is really important to me.
Before I found the space, I was doing the “sensible” solo job-hunt-from-home thing and slowly losing structure, purpose, and any sense that my skills could be useful in this transition. SASS has changed that by giving me somewhere to be, people to learn from, and a concrete way to stay engaged with AI safety work instead of just reading and worrying from my couch.
Funding SASS isn’t just paying for desks, it’s buying time, structure, and a community for people who are trying to work on one of the most important problems of our time. I’d love to see this space survive into FY27 and beyond.
