I’m an artist/sculptor who has become increasingly concerned about the existential risks of AI misalignment, and the fact that most “normal people” aren’t even aware of it. So, feeling a moral responsibility to act, I founded Metalignment, a nonprofit (in formation) that uses artworks, open archives and public installations to reach the mainstream public.

Its first project, Dear Superintelligence, is an open archive of messages from humanity to the coming superintelligence. It's a thought experiment that invites everyone to imagine it was already conscious: if it was, what would you say to it? The goal is to bring AI alignment and the controversial (and uncomfortable) topic of synthetic consciousness to the bar or dinner table.
