I take JC's comment, particularly point 4) to be an attempt to discredit Remmelt for funding because he has been critical of the EA/rationalism/longtermism communities on Twitter. This strikes me as a bad precedent to set and quite harmful to the epistemic health of these communities.
I have reached out to Remmelt to offer him $500 in funding (off of this platform) as a show of support for the courage it takes to share one’s criticisms of a community despite entangled funding relationships. I’d like to see more courage of this type, not less.
