What progress have you made since your last update?

Most of our progress has come through research rather than the incubation program itself, which we delayed (see below).

Concretely, we directed some funding to Oath (oath.vote), which prioritizes political giving, helping to move small and medium donor dollars to higher-impact races. We also caused the creation of an upcoming experiment registry for political experiments to help solve the publication bias issue -- a project which was gridlocked politically for years until we stepped in as relative newcomers and declared that we were gonna fund it, and that was able to break the gridlock.

On talent in particular we funded 3 or 4 awesome folks from the existing political ecosystem to work on high-EV election-protection and pro-democracy efforts this summer, who would otherwise have been stuck in much less impactful jobs.

What are your next steps?

We are still likely to do something like an incubation program. One of the bottlenecks is recruiting someone politically experienced and well-connected to run it (it probably won't be me, although certainly I will advise). We have some leads, but nothing settled yet.

Beyond that, we have a number of other projects going which I can't share publicly yet.
