I'm a PhD student at the University of Queensland, finding new algorithms to simulate quantum systems. I've been working on Tensor Networks, which can be used to simulate entangled quantum materials, quantum computers, or to perform machine learning.
I have a long-standing interest in AI safety, and I attended the 2nd Machine Learning Alignment Bootcamp (MLAB) hosted at Redwood Research in 2022. I believe that my background in tensor network methods could be useful for developing new interpretability methods. I'm looking at spending 2024 on independent AI safety research, which should give me more flexibility before hopefully joining a research lab from 2025.
I've also done an internship using machine learning to decode neural signals from rat brains, and currently I'm currently finishing up a paper on a new way of defining wavefunction branches in terms of quantum complexity.
